We started the lesson as usual: saying the day of the week and the date and talking about the weather. Students spelled their last name and ask the next student to do it.
Most of them had done their homework, GOOD FOR YOU, so we were practicing questions like:
What do you have on Monday for your first period? Students got together with a partner and asked him or her that information for every day of the week.
Later the teacher explained how to say the time. Most students already knew how to do it but it was good for them to go over it. For the Olympic Games they were given a worksheet with 8 clocks and they had to write the time for each. They also had to ask questions orally: What´s the time on clock 6?

Today we started a new unit. It is about school and studying. Children asked each other what school year they are doing. They also spelled their last names
Students said all the words related to school they could think about. Then we talked about the subjects they have:
Art, music, PE, sciences, maths, history, Spanish, Foreign Language, social sciences, IT, drama.
We listened to a recording and had to put in order the subjects they heard.
They asked each other: What´s your first subject on Monday?
We reviewed the clock and how to tell the time. What time do you start school? I start school at 9.
Students filled up a worksheet which showed the timetable of 3 different children. Then we had our Olympic Games: They had to ask another student: What does X (name of child) have on (day of the week)?

Here is the link I told you about. Goldilocks
Homework for next week: Write the date of birth of everybody in your family.
Example: My mother´s date of birth is: September 6th, 1980
First we were reviewing the months. January, February, March ... etc. and backwards: December, November, October...
Today in our lesson we were learning how to say the date. Before that and as warming up students ask one another questions about the weather today and yesterday. They had to come up with the questions themselves. A classmate would answer.
Students lined up and said which position in the line they were.
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th ....
21st, 31st, 23rd, 22nd....
We played a game: each student had a calendar and they had to move accross it going from box to box. they had to say the date they were on. The other students had to note it down on their own calendar.
We learned how to say the years. Finally we had a little contest where students had to write down the dates that the teacher dictated.
